MY box is downstairs in the living room but my pc is upstairs in the spare bedroom,i suppose i could connect the box upstairs but i would like to be able to connect downstairs using my sons laptop. One thing i noticed is that my pc,my sons laptop and my router ALL have the same IP,whereas before they were all one different ie 192.168.0.1 - router 192.168.0.2- my pc etc etc.I don't understand why they ALL share the same IP now.Could this be the reason i cannot connect to my box ?

If all your devices have the same ip address then they will all conflict with each other when connected to your home network. You need to set your router to DHCP and all your devices to dhcp. It will be easier to connect to your dreambox through your router at least until you get your problem resolved.Comment

I have managed to resolve the issue of all my devices having the same ip address, not sure how it occured but they are all different now by one digit.I will try and access the web interface again, hopefully it will now connect.
Many thanks for your advice and patience Curious123,it's very much appreciated.Comment

Nope,no luck.all ip's set differently and still no connection to my box can be established.I think at this point i will just give up and try to live with the problem (for perhaps a day.then it will bug me again).
Cheers.
UPDATE !!!!!!!!!
Connected box to my router, after untangling a spaghetti mess of cables around the back of my tv.Got into the web interface straight away, seems the connector on my sons lappy may not be configured or simply not working at all.
Connection problem now solved but i'm still unable to alter the channel listing layout on the box.
Thanks a million to those who helped, especially Curious123.
Have a great crimbo and a happy new year to all.Last edited by AirShowNut; 17 December, 2009, 11:36.Comment
