    DM800 Bonsey-DM800C IMAGE - Gemini 4.5 with 14day EPG (clone)

    Finally....here it is:
    Digital Kaos - Downloads - Bonsey-DM800C- Gemini 4.5 with 14day EPG (clone)

THE first DM800C image with 14-days EPG on Virgin TV network

IMPORTANT : Use this image at your own rick and is for education purposes only. Must not be sold or uploaded to any other Dreambox forum other than Digital-Kaos.co.uk

This image is a Gemini 4.5 (for clones) using BL 72
Hardware: Dreambox 800C (clone) from DVBSeller.com came with bootloader 69.

This image includes everything apart from Keys and Rom?s files as I hope to upload it to DK forums only and exclusive to DK members.

I have included in the file latest version of Dreamup as well as clone friendly 2nd stage bootloader BL72 in case you get the ?no ca error? after you flash.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

14-day EPG ? MUST have hard drive installed.

Included in this file is a HDD.rar which you must extract to the root of your /HHD folder.
I have included my epg.dat also, to test.

/hdd/e2_loadepg/dl_modules/radiotimes-channel_list.conf <-- is the important file which tells the DM800 which channels feeds to download and how to assign them. Mine is for Northern Ireland, you will have your own regional chanels so just look at the file and edit to suit your location. To check RT channel ID read here:

    http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/channels.dat Format: ID|Channel Name

    radiotimes-channel_list.conf Format:

    132=1,Channel 4,053

    RT ID=(1=grab|0=don?t grab),Service/channel name(as it appears in your Dreambox listing),Provider (menu/information/service = Provider)

I have setup as a cron to download all the channels feeds from the Radiotimes @ 04:30am every morning. It will then restart enigma automatically and put your DM into standby mode. So when you awake in the morning, press power on button and within seconds, TV is displayed and ALL 14 days epg is available. At all stages of the process, a popup on screen will tell when it begins an new process and when completed.

If you wish to force an update then you must either setup a conjob yourself or telnet into the box and use the following commands:

    cd /media/hdd/e2_loadepg/

    Then

    e2_loadepg.py

It will begin to download all channels info from Radio times. It will save all channel txt files in /hdd/e2_loadepg/cache and when completed the download it will then create a new epgdat.tmp in /hdd/e2_loadepg/ then when that is complete it will create a new epg.dat (location in /hdd root) file from these feeds (which can take 30-40mins to do in background) So do not get impatient and reboot or begin any recordings while it does this process. I will then restart enigma2. STILL dont touch it after another 5mins it will tell you its imported all data into epg and then it will go into standby mode.

I have also tested and it works to automatic switch to channel and begin recording and it does it correctly, unlike some other dm800 images.

I have put on my favioute skin out of all of them, its fast, best looking and few other tweaks. To make its use enjoyable.

I hope its of benefit for you and save you the weeks I?ve spent on research and testing all images and scripts to get a perfect working dm800 image which has working 14day epg for us Virgin users.

Big thanks for Gezz for help on channels and don?t forget to use the thanks button if you appreciate my work.

Firstly thanks, saved me a lot of hassle setting this up. I was tearing my hair out trying to get it to work. I got the config side absolutely no problem so I already have everything set. I just couldn't get it to read the damn file I created without deleting it .

When you wrote that you "tested and it works to automatic switch to channel and begin recording and it does it correctly" what do you mean? Is that where you change channel and it automatically begins recording (time shift mode) so that you can rewind live TV?

I couldn't find the setting for that, could you tell me how to turn it on? I managed it no problem with the 600 but couldn't find it on the 800. I did ask in a seperate thread but noone seemed to know.

        TIA.

Ahh right, yeah I have it working that way.

On the DM600 there is an option to use the time shift function to record constantly. It is in with the HDD options with regards to sleep mode etc. I set it up so that after 10 seconds it would automatically start recording whatever you are watching, that way if you missed something you could rewind it. It would record up to a maximum of 30 mins of each channel. Basically it worked the same way as Sky+. I'm surprised it has been missed out with the DM800.

            Thanks
