Nooob help please...

I would have posted a decent title for the thread but itll just become apparent that I have no idea what Im doing so anyways here goes... here are my problems...

I have a null cable and a DM500c bought from dvbseller...
I wasnt able to get any programme to flash that was reccomended. After some tinkering and eventually finding my box's ip address (which through fear I now cant remember) I was able to write the dk_v1.img to my box. But then after a short burst of joy, my box straight afterwards has become unresponsive...

so can anyone tell me... how to rectify this matter and also how to progress in my mission to watch my virgin media channels... eventually haha. thanks in advance...

hi mate dreamup is what i use ,i take it youve got dreamup?is it a laptop your using or is it a main pc?what do you mean unresponsive? do you get a green light?sometimes what you have to do is switch the box on then press ok for the image to start but will run thro dreamup for you as you dont need the ip addy anway, place your image on desktop
1 make sure your power cable from the box is unplugged
2 plug in your null modem cable to box and puter
3 start up dreamup ,make sure your com port 1 is showing and untick network
4 press connect
5 it will tell you to plug in power (do it)
6 press flash it will ask if you want to do a flash erase say yes
7 then wait till it says flash complete (can take about 10 to 15 mins)
8 then re boot box and wait for it to fire up

thanks for the reply. but dreamup is not responding when I turn the dm500 on... which is strange because flashwizzard did... any ideas? oh and yes... its a main pc I am using

b4 you switch on your box do you have dreamup up and running?and only your com port is showing?make sure your connected to the right comport?make sure nothing else is ticked,then when you click connect dreamup should say" now plug in your power to your box" can you see a little red light in the left hand side of your box?looking in from the top thro the vents?

I do all what you tell me in regards to dreamup. But there only seams to be one red light coming from the vents and thats the red light for the digital audio...

ok is it xp or vista ?if it was flashwizard pro you used your settings may still be saved in memeory of it

mate. theres not much point. all that it is, is the connection prepared. switch on your dreambox screen... thats all I get
