DM600 the old dreamup problem[once again]

hi guys,my dell/vista laptop with comport converter is realy starting to get the better of me, it did work with dreamup once and flashed the 600 no problem so i dont know why it wont work now. i did have a desktop with win 98 and that was great but the hard drive went and now with the new one it wont work with dreamup. so what i want to know is has anyone ever got to the bottom of why it wont work with comport converters? or can anyone tell me what their full settings are ie. in device manager. i,d love to get on top of this as my mate is looking to get a 600 and wants me to flash it. i have tried other pc,s but no luck. the flash box in dreamup stays grey and wont highlight to let me select it.i,ll try anything at this stage. thanks guys.

Make sure you select the com port that you're using in Dreamup, usually it's com1 but your adapter or converter might be set for something else.

thanks devilfish, i have tried that but no luck. i think its the flow control and bites settings that need changing . can anyone give me their port setting so i can try a few ? thanks again.
