DM600 recording problems

Could anyone advise me how to record on my DM600c and watch another channel and pre-program it day or weeks in advice for recording. I?m using PLi Jade3 - for the Dreambox DM600 is this the but one to use?

1. Press Menu > Timer and then set times for recording.
2. Press Red Button for EPG > select programme for recording > press Green Button.
3. it is not possible to record one program and watch another unless both programs happen to be on the same transponder.

I use the Pli Jade image and i quite prefer it over most other images. If you go to the Pli images web site you can interrogate their wikipedia.
