There's a few ways you can do it.

Install VideoLAN and stream using the ip address.
Install BitControl and useWindows Media Player.
Use the web interface (pu ip address of box into your browser).

congrats buddy... I've been trying all night. to be honest the guide is well and truly complicated for yours truly... would anyone mind holding my hand in this thread while I try and get this sorted out? plus then other people can read in simplified terms what to do and itll be a good read for them...

whos up for helping me... start with step one and I'll follow commands
        pwease

btw Im interested in the option to: Use the web interface (pu ip address of box into your browser). I've managed to get it working on my netowork but not to my girls pc over the net..

If your dreambox is connected to your router then all PCs on your network should be able to access its web interface.

Just put the ip address of the dreambox into your browser, username root and password dreambox. Up in the left corner there is a link like WEB-X-TV, click this and the live window should come up. You should be able to change channels with the web interface too.

If that doesn't work, try installing VLC and/or BitControl and try the web interface again.

With VLC, you should be able to stream from a url, enter in the ip address and it should come up. Have a read through the guides by cdh555 in the download section on streaming, pretty complicated but follow the instructions exactly and you should be ok.

Digital Kaos - Downloads - BitControl (for streaming to PC)

is this for streaming over the net? or are we talking local over a network? and what setup are you using? the web interface one? I was trying that guide and gave up on the dynamic dns ... completley over my head as I set one up but wasnt allowed to log in

haha no worries Im working on it... but it seems its a case of getting the raw stream address of the broadcast first which I have done... I'll slowly figure it out dont you worry haha... anyone else in on this holla back
