Manual update not working!

Hi

Been trying to update my box with the latest files. I have figured out that I cannot AU them as I cannot connect my DB to the internet and have cable feed at the same time (single cable at the mo, splitter ordered!). Im hoping those DB owners who do not have their box connected to the net or the older skool members can help me figure out why I cant manually update my box. Tried with two cams so far :

Evocamd 2.17
This has been working since early this year, and only stopped working when the keys rolled in Dec. So I guess I have all the ROM and config files etc in place for it to have been working before. I take it that the AU only updates the keys file with the newer keys anyway? I have a 7025, so I updated the keylist file within the var/scce folder. The keylist.txt file within the var/keys folder did not have an entry for uk cable. Got the latest keys from the keymaster tool and updated the keylist file, rebooted DB, put to skysports, restarted evocamd 2.17, nothing!

mgcamd1.31 + newcs1.67
Followed the thread http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...install-73271/. Connected the DB to the net and downloaded mgcamd1.31 from the addon's manager panel. Updated the sofcam.key file with the keys from the keymaster tool, rebooted DB, put to skysports, restarted mgcamd1.31, nothing!

there was no key roll in dec of this year so when was the box last used. the only roll of any kind was the roll out of N3 so if you in ireland or telewest area of yorkshire your box will no longer work as there is no fix

Connect your box to the internet, download and install Evocamd 2.13 or 2.12 and then turn to S*y Sp1 until channel clears.

Wilf, based in ldn, dont think the N3 rollout has reached here yet. Channels switched off around 3rd or 4th dec.

Curious, will download evocamd 2.12 and 2.13 when I get home, do i need to uninstall previous versions? Will let you know how I get on.

my understanding is that the box doesn't need connecting to the net (rj45/router) for the keys to update. thats done through the broadband co-ax .
there may be a problem with one of your rom files.

Many thanks Sossy! Really appreciate you taking the time to upload your files to a server and share! I think you were right with the ROM files...

Curious, unfortunately the Nabiloblackhole image i'm using only has version 2.17 of evocamd and nothing older, strange all other cams had previous versions listed. All sorted now but something I will keep in mind in future.

I did all these steps but the Autoroll doesn't work here! I downloaded and copied the magic_files, installed the Evocamd 2.17b and tried disconnected and also connected to the internet!
Here the Cable Provider use the "provider" 3911 according with the old keys:
"N 3911 00 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ;
N 3911 01 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ;"

What can I do to update the keys by the Autoroll??

Hi Curious, yeap you are right, I've never had to connect any of my boxes to the net (previously had a replay box). I usually scramble around once or twice a year to try and get the box working when they go down and thats it really. I stepped up to a dreambox 7025 hoping to get more out of these type of boxes and making it easier to update. I read everywhere about blue panel update of keys etc hoping this would make life easier. Looking at one of the threads mentioned earlier, it looks like mgcamd can be set to AU keys if it detects a channel is scrambled. Guess this is a setup I'm working to along with the card sharing bit (think thats going to take a bit of time though!). Its great that there are forums like this for information and a tech community willing to share and help!
