i flashed my box with this image dk v1 and its spot on and i quite like the layout
just one thing i have a dozen boxes to sort out for a favour of a mate now i was wondering if i can copy my channel set up an copy over to the other boxes i have to flash to save me setting all the channels up on each box

Yes you can do that mate. As per Devilfish instructions.

Using remote, Blue > User Features > ServicesBackup

FTP to your dreambox and navigate to /tmp.
Copy the services.tar.gz file to your PC.
Flash the new DK v1 image.
Copy the services.tar.gx file from your PC to your dreambox.
Using remote, Yellow > User Features > ServicesRestore
Exit out all menus, hold 'INFO' to bring up the EMU manager and press OK to start

FTP to /tmp and copy the backup.img file to your PC.

Flash this image to the other boxes and that's you sorted.
