    DM500 Best Image(Firmware) for a DM-500C

    Hi,


    I am trying to get my DM-500c up and running which I recently bought and have no previous experience with dreambox?s, so I would say I am an utter newbie.


    What I would like to ask the more experienced members of the forum is that what is the best firmware (Image) for a DM-500C? And where can I get my hands on it? Any forwarding links will be much appreciated.


    The ones I know about are, DK v1.1, DW v2.1, Neutrino and Gemini.....


    There may be others which I don?t know about. So please can people who know what they are talking about tell me which is the best firmware for a DM-500C box. Please remember it?s a CLONE, and I have been told that some images are time bombs for clone dreambox?s....


    I don?t know if it does but if it makes any difference I live in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, UK.

      hi and welcome to dk, the ones to avoid are gemini unless they have had the bomb removed, dk 1.1 is the best in my opinion, i also tried plijade which i also liked, but each to their own, the link to all the downloadable images are here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/dlcat-images-2/ take a look try a few and see which you like best

          my personal favorite is dk 1.1. It just looks a lot more polished than most of the others in my opinion, and since I have had it I have not had a single problem

              Thanks to both of you for your replies, and thanks for providing the link Wilf...

              So far I think DK v1.1 is winning as both of you think it is the best. I will wait for another few opinions and flash an image according to what other members think.

                  DK v1.1 is good but the word I get back is Neutrino is more user friendly.

                      You will get excellent support from this forum whatever image you go with, but as you can imagine, you would get better supoport by using the DK image....

                      Another one of my favs is the PLi Jade image. Very professional and polished, and again loads of support.

                      The only thing I can say is read up on google on CCcam as you will need to, and whatever you dont panic, its easy really, especially with the support.
