Remote control for linux black box

Need some advice guys, I got a linux black box with what I think is a dodgy remote control. It only works when it feels like it, tried new batteries etc, turned off wireless devices in house just incase there was any interference but nothing sorts it.

Here's the weird thing, the black box works no problem with a dreambox remote, and the black box remote works no problem with a dreambox!

Is it possible to somehow configure the black box remote to actually work with the black box box?

    Using digital kaos image

    Cheers

That does sound wierd! I would contact the seller and see what they have to say about it.

A neat little trick to test your remote is to use the camera on your mobile phone, point it at the end of the remote and press the buttons while looking at it on your phone. You can't see it with the naked eye but you should be able to see it blinking through the viewer on the phone. This lets you know the remote is ok.

Thanks Glen, Seiko is sending me out a dreambox remote but I just thought I would see if I could fix the black box remote myself to save him sending me one out.

Thanks for the tip, it seems to be working ok but just not on the black box!

        Weird

i dont know, but if the controllers are roughly the same... just swap the boards over???

its only 1 screw under the q sticker where the batteries go
