the questionis=can i use all the firmware versions or i m limited
likein the case of chinese 500 series

Blackbox 500 is a clone of dreambox 500. You can not buy orginal dreambox 500 since about 2 years ago.
Yes you can use all software for dreambox 500 clone on blackbox 500.

Yes it works but make sure its not original image which may cause DM500 to hang or unbootable. You should use the clones' image plentifully available here. Please use the search button in this DIY forum.
