Singapore DM900C - Using the Timer Function

    Hi there,

I'm using the DM900C and am having some problems with the Timer function.

This function basically allows you to change channels at preset times, which is what I need when going overseas and having to pre-set recordings for different channels at different times.

The Timer function comes with 6 timer slots (meaning I can only change it 6 times within any given period). This is not an issue.

However, what is an issue is that after using the Timer function for the first time for any particular slot, say Slot 1, I am no longer able to change the month anymore.

For example, if today, I decide to use Slot 1 for the first time in December and set the date, say 13 December 2010. This works fine and as planned. However, if next month (ie today, Jan 2010), I try to use Slot 1 again, it will default back to the date I last used, which is 13 December 2010.

Clicking on "OK" in my remote whilst at the date field works to bring up the calendar, but I can only change the date, not the month! I've tried all buttons on my remote but cannot find any way to change the month.

The curious thing is that if I now decide to use Slot 2 (which was never used before), it works! Because Slot 2 was never used before, the default date starts at 13 January 2010 (ie todays date and month) and I can set the date.

However, the same problem will occur when February comes.

At this time, I am down to my last 2 slots out of 6 and this is running out fast. Hopefully someone can help me out of this dillemma.

I've considered activating the Factory Reset menu item but am wondering whether I will lose all my channels in doing so. As I'm a beginner in the world of cable-boxes, this will not be ideal as I will not know how to get them back.

Ideally, we can find a solution to the Timer function problem set out above.

    Thanks in advance!

Hey don't do the Master Reset. Damn I wanted to reorder my channels so I did a Master Reset. Now my channels show up but there's no image. Good that you're cautious =p

Ah do you encounter the same problem with the Timer function that I did? I'm really running out of slots now

Will lay off the Master Reset in view of your advice. How did you manage to resolve your problem after you did the Master Reset?

Bro Kereen, it's best that you edit your post and not type out the full country name. Anything that mentions our country or cable provider will show up this forum on a search.

Edited; but no way to edit thread title :P You can also edit your post now.

Would you happen to also have the same problem I have as far as the timer is concerned?

Thanks bro Kerean, maybe you can try to pm the moderator and ask him to edit the title, since you are the TS.

For the timer function, not sure as I've not use it before.

I don't think its very courteous of you to ask for a removal of someone else's thread.

I recently had a chance to try out the newer DM900VC but still have the same problem with the timer.

Has anyone managed to use timer function and if so, how do you change months?
