Linux Blackbox 500C

I notice you have an advertisment for the linux blackbox 500C at the bottom of the forums. Has anybody used one of these and would they recommend them ?

they are the same as the 500c only in a black box ,if you search forum am sure there is a couple of members on here who have either just bought one or are waiting on one think we are waiting for their response ,i know that you can flash 500 firmare on them

Linux Blackbox 500C

I have got one of this in silver for about 5 months now.Tuner is better then orignal dreambox and tuner has F connector instead of aerial type socket.
With this one you dont need f connector adaptor for cable signal input.
I am currently using Digital world image with no problems, but now flashing with Digital kaos image to see how it behaves.

i purchased one of these about two months ago i also have the silver one the tuner in the new one is a little bit better and so is the picture quality a great buy go for it you wont be disapointed

Thanks for the info. I am going to order one of these for a friend of mine. I have been a Dbox man for about the last 4 years so I may need some help setting 500c up.

waiting on refund

hi guys yes i was desperate to get one of these i ordered 1 to try from buythings uk over a month ago i was told 2 weeks ago there was a customs delay but if i phoned in a couple of days i would get a delivery date tried phoning several times and e mailed no response had a e mail i was getting a refund as couldnt tell when he would have them that was last week still no refund

I got one of these from my cuz who bought it from buythings a couple of months ago, It had DK v1.0 so updated it to v1.1. Everything was fine but it was disconnect for a couple of weeks due to decorating. When connected back up nothing, just power led showing. So tried re-flashing with dreamup but was still waiting for response after 20 mins tried this via 3 different computers still same result. cuz has been trying to get in touch with buythings via phone, email for the last 2 weeks. Still no reply!
