DM500 dm500 not picking up channels

ok, i apologise in advance for asking this newbee question.
i have a bit of a problem , to cut a long story short ive been away from home since october.
i returned home yesterday to see that my d500c is not picking up any channels (some not sky sports or bbc1 but others) what i would like to know is, has there been any new keys since august, as thats when i programmed/flashed the box.
i have done bruteforce scan but no luck, should i reflash or insert some new keys if there are 'new keys'
my missus says its been down since mid october

There have been a few key rolls since October, set you magic files to chmod 777 via FTP and re-scan, should update and auto write the new keys

nice 1 scarface, but when you say 'set you magic files to chmod 777 via FTP and re-scan' what exactly do i change in the var/scee files.
im all good using ftp, so thats not a prob just need a little guidance as to what needs [how] changing
plus are my old magic files still good or do they need replacing

Right click on files that you have in var etc/scce and then select 'Change attributes'.
But i think its 755 you change them to when setting up unit!

Or delete the kxys in folder keylist.txt and rescan for services, then go to sly sps 1 then ssp 2 and wait for it to update

so i change the attributes to all files in var etc/scce , is it 777 or 755?
on a side note if i reflashed would i still have to chmod

Everyone says 755, but i set all mine to 777 and never had a problem, and if you reflashed you would still have to set the attributes, for every keyroll your keylist.txt file wont update unless you have the attribues to read/write. So in future you wont notice any keyrolls.

This is quite interesting.
I have just reflashed 2 boxes for a mate and put in k*ys etc. and all attributes are set at 644, and so is mine, which has been working with these settings for months, as do the 2 that I have just done.
Why does everyone keep saying 755 if other setting work?
Do we need different settings for different areas?
I guess with me it is a case of if it aint broke don't fix it.
Still I would be interested to hear what others have to say.

ok, so i deleted all my var/keys var/scce files & got some magic files from devilfish link, i put those in var/keys var/scce and changed all the attributes in these files to 755.
so i rebooted with no luck, re-scanned with no luck ? do i just reflash the image, or maybe there is another trick
when re-scanning shall i delete channels in bouquets?

You are not in Leeds or ireland by any chance? Did you turn to S*y Sports 1 to see if the channels cleared?

no im east london using a dm500c, i went to sly sports 1 but it never cleared
curious123, what are the attributes set to on yours? + do i change the atrributes for only var/keys var/scce, i have changed all them to 755 in both these files

When you had files in proper place, did you restart the cam by holding down the info button for about 3 seconds, and then select and restart your cam. then go to ssp1 then ssp 2.!

yep i did this it restarted evocamd 2.12 but it didn't clear the channel

Make sure your majic files are the latest available, grab them from the TCB.cc toolbar or Bigmaq toolbars! in the files and fixes tab! (updates and fixes)
