    Dreambox for cable like Sky+?

Is the dreambox 8000 hd simular in spec to the Sky+box , in that you can record 2 channels at the same time whilst watching a recorded program?

Also can you get special firmwares to enable extra channels to be viewed?

Im thinking of getting one with a Cable decoder build in?
And im new to these type of boxes.

I was recommend a Starview 4 by someone and a Eurovox box by someone else and am totally confused.

HD is not my primary concern but is nice, its the number of channels and recording thats the main thing.
    Any help would be great!

    thanks in advance

You do realise that vermin media are changing the encryption within the next couple of months therefore all non official boxes will no longer work?

No i did not , thanks for the heads up , i have sky at the moment , virgin was installed before i moved in. Was looking to see what free channels and services i can get to save some money etc.

I presume that there is no extra channels available on sky without subscribing or moving the dish?
