Lost channels on dreambox 500c (virgin med)

deleted all the missing channels that i was on about above, now the damn thing wont even find those channels, it was finding them last night and stuff, just the blank screen i was on about, i dunno whats going on, its strange its those channels and its even more strange that other people are reporting the same problem, hmmmm, iam lost now.

I was thinking about signal issue as i know about signal issues all too well with the 500C, but i dont think that if it was a signal issue that it would actually find the channels, and display the epg on the channels too for the current programs etc, would it ? (if it was a signal issue i mean)

tried scanning on old and new tuner too.

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG......... , done a zillion scans now trying different things, and still the channels are not even being detected now , its easy enough for me to plug in the booster and try that way, but i think all i will do then is make all my perfect signal channels worse because i will be forcing the signal to be stronger etc, 95% of channels are perfect, just the ones ive been on about are the problems now, and they never used to be.

whats the odd;s on a reflash fixing this and maybe a different image ?? ive never had a prob with this image until now.

Working at last.............

I had the same problem, i have a enigma image. I scanned through Bruteforce and all the channels came not working.

I managed to find all the channels in a folder under providers called UKNOWN. All my working channels had somehow all been shifted to this one folder.

I am up and running again. I am not sure if this is the same case in other images.

i hope this helps just glad got all my channels back.

I have similar problem with my dm500c since yesterday morning, suddenly all channels disappeared, dont even get the egp for any channels. I am on a dk image, and it has been a treat for the last year or so. Did all sorts of restarts etc. nothing works. I am in NW London area and old tlwst.

i had something simlar with my box ,area paisley . lost most fta done a rescan all returned .

ive had a look again for the channels and i cant find them , what i can find though is a few called "service removed" and they appear to be some of the missing channels as when i click on them i can see the epg etc, but still just a blank screen.

channels iam on about are ones like E4, E4+1, Film 4, film 4+1, and some of the discovery channels, there are probably more missing but ive not came across them yet, all other channels such as sky sports and sky movies etc work just fine.

and i dont see any folder called "unknown" either.

For people who already have a dreambox 500c can we just add the 500s tuner inside instead of buying a whole new box ?

no you cant switch the tuners, well technically you can but its a very difficult job from what i remember and not worth the hassle.

anyway, back to the missing channels now

Got my channels back...But

Well, i did a rescan and got all the channels back, but some of them appear more than 5 times and only one of them seems to work, how can i delete non working channels, or all from the list? any help appreciated.

PS. i have a d500c dk image.

you could use dreambox edit or the remote, what you do is goto all services and see if any of your channels have epg guide if so press ok if it shows then leave it if it doesnt press menu then a screen should come up scroll down to delete and carry on doing that

iam using DW image (DW 2.1), is there any better one than that or is that pretty much best to use ?? ive tried neutrino but those kind of images dont work good in this area, get some picture breakup with them.

try dkv1.1 mate it always picks up missing channels when you delete then do a bruteforce scan. Hope you get it sorted.

is that an enigma image mate ?

if so, do you or anyone have the channels all sorted out in bouqets etc, would be handy if someone had it all ready to go rather than me messing around arranging channels etc.

I'm getting the same with certain channels. SS1 is ok but not SS2 or 3. Will attempt to re flash the image and hope that solves it. I'll report back me findings. Good luck

I manage to delete them, but they keep on appearing back. any ideas....? and i also seems to have regional channels, which ofcourse dont work e.g. bbc scotland, bbc wales etc...

Just lost E$PN, rebooted, scanned bruteforce and rescanned, E$PN still not showing, but after checking all the other channels E$PN reappeared. WEIRD but all OK for now.

Had the same problem with regional and multi showing channels, tried to delete but kept returning, ended up using parent controls, locking the unwanted channels and then hiding them.
