    dvb monkey is buyingthings?

    so i ordered a 500c from dvbmonkey on 11/08.
it hasnt arrived and i have yet to have an email saying that its been shipped.
i emailed them on 14/08 and they replied saying it would be despatched either friday or monday.
well monday came and went and still no email, went to the website and my order was still being processed.
sent two further emails and no reply
looked at paypal details and there was a phone number. i rang it and it was buyingthings.co.uk! automated message saying no-one was there.
this raises the question, are dvbmonkey part of buyingthings?
    or have i been scammed?
i noticed that a couple of guys on here mrdude being one said that he ordered with no probs....
    still i'm getting worried.......

I've asked the owner of buyingthings to clarify his situation with DVBMonkey.

I ordered a Linux box from buyingthings about 10 days ago, I was given a tracking number for Parcelforce which says the item was delivered yesterday to someone in Nottingham (I live in Elstree near Watford), I emailed them and there reply was that they wanted my tel no. to contact me. So I await my call

              Hey people,

              I'm Seiko from BuyingThings.co.uk

I'm using my neighbors login .

Let me just settle your minds. DVBMonkey is buyingthings supplier and have started suppling to the UK market. BuyingThings LTD does not want to sell clone DM boxes anymore (as we got our hands slapped) and have passed on all that side to DVBMonkey.com. We cant sell the clones so we mad a deal. If we assist DVBMonkey then we get a great discount on the Linux BlackBox 500C.

Currently the suppler has no contact number via their paypal and wanted us to assist in customer services for a small fee (though they may do in the next few weeks) and as we have done business for over the years we are happy to assist (and we continue to get a massive discount )

DVBMonkey isn't interested in ripping people off as there is tooooo much money to loose. I think your restless due to the fact the shipment is coming from China. IT WILL ARRIVE BUT TAKES TIME. You have to wait at least 7-10days or more due to the Olympics and they do provide tracking numbers. If you cant wait, i suggest you request a refund..

As for BuyingThings, we were trying to take the shipment from China route but it takes to dam long, especially now cause of the security We are not con artists and for those customers who has purchased from us will vouch I'm sure. If you can not wait for your goods, please request a refund as we do not want to carry a bad reputation.

Hope you guys understand and you are all welcome to contact me at any time for more info.

I dont have a problem with waiting but I do have a problem with being given an incorrect tracking number.
You say buyingthings.co.uk doesnt want to sell cloned DM boxes anymore, so why is your site advertising the Linux black box?

The Linux BlackBox is not classed as a clone (legal stuff)

It has the same insides as a DM but the tuners are different and the look of the box is totally different. To top it up the software is not the DM standard but the great DKv1 and so its nolonger a clone. Hope that makes sense...

Also, the recking number.. not sure whats going on with that but I'll investigate for ya. Many people get these Boxes from BYT from this site and I promise you we try and pride on our customer services..

ive bought about 20 boxes from buyingthings.co.uk & ive had no trouble at all. in fact i would say all dealings ive had have been top class. they have been a bit slow in getting supplies but thats about it. they also give a good discount for bulk orders. im looking forward to seeing what these new boxes are like when they get some more stock.

well thats sort of put my mind at rest knowing for sure that they are part of buyingthings family as i have read good things on this site about them, didnt even think about the olympics. seeing as though EVERYONE over there works for the government i can see why their postal service may be a bit slow at the mo.
                      guess i'll just wait
so ninelives if you work for them, can you ask someone wheres my order? order number 080811-102203-7333. seems its quicker to ask on here rather than email

If anyone has any queries with their order please take it up with the seller via email or through their website. Please don't ask questions on the forum and expect to get an answer.

The forum is a place to get help and learn, not a agent or go-between for buyers and seller.

                            I'm sure you all understand.

Thanks for clearing that up Seiko.
