    Noob Question regarding setup of dreambox 500c

    hi guys i have used this site for tips and pointers and got my dreambox working 2 years ago....

    my friend has asked me to sort his box out the only problem is i have a new pc and dont have the connection for the null modem cable on my new pc to flash the box and transfer file over......

    is there anywhere i can buy a connector for my pc so i can connect the null modem cable?

    i still remember all the basic setups to get it working thanks to the threads on here..

      you can buy a USB to serial cable anywhere m8.

      Then search on google and download the "PL-2303 USB-Serial" drivers.

              m8 use eathernet crossover cable if you havnt got network card put that in its so easy ..this is how i done it

                  yes i think the crossover cable is easiest option too. although i have a particularly old laptop that has the serial port connection and i keep hold of it for this reason only
