500c flashing help needed

help! im trying to flash an image onto my dreambox using dreamup. the dreambox 500c is connected to pc using null modem cable. when i try to connect i get error message 'unable to open com port, aborting' can any1 give me some advice please

Need to set com port in device manager by the sounds of it.

if it's a 'onboard' COM port on the PC, it's usually COM 1. If you're using a USB>Serial type device to give you a COM port - it's usually higher, Say COM3 or COM 4. Check in device manager.

either way, in Dreamup, the drop down box will tell you what COM ports are available

sorted, hadnt selected a com port on dream up, as derek would say, what a plonker!
