    DM500 methods to flash a dm500

Just wondering how other members here flashed their boxes from dvbseller?

Did you do it with a cross over cable or null modem?
Also which image did you use?

Also what image did you use

Just need to know as i am expecting mine in the next few days and i messed a previous one up with flashwizardpro

    Thanks

A null modem cable and dreamup is always the best method.

2nd I would say copy the image to /tmp and use the telnet command to flash.

FWP I would NEVER use. Hangs up too frequently then you need to get the null modem cable out, you might as well use it in the first place and be safe in the knowledge that you've got a good flash.

I use the Digital Kaos v1.1 image.

          1. Click the Start
          2. Click Control Panel
          3. Select Programs
          4. Select Turn Windows Features on or off
          5. May need to confirm the UAC
          6. Wait...
          7. Click the checkboxes beside the telnet client or server.
          7. Click OK.

Personal preference is telnet method - 3 minutes and your done. If it goes belly up you can always use the null modem/dreamup method.

Just tracked my order and the expected delivery is for Tuesday so can anyone here who has bought a box from dvbseller confirm they have used telnet on their dreambox and did it go through okay?
