500c, how to increase/decrease sharpness ??

Is there a way to adjust the picture output sharpness of the dreambox 500c ?

I have the DW 2.1 image at present.

Hope someone can help me with this as its doing my head in, thanks.

Don't think I have ever came across info/posts to increase picture quality, would be news to be if there was some hardware changes you could make.
If you have tried diff setting in 'AV setup' maybe try the video/audio leads instead of using the scart lead!

video/audio leads ? please advise.

I thought scart was as good as it gets apart from hdmi cables ?

Use the component outputs, ie yellow, red and white output connections that are alongside the scart output, cable would have came with your dreambox from new!
Lots say it sorted their poor picture quality when using a scart lead! Its surely worth a try anyway!

so component is the one that have 3 cables, right ??

do they carry sound too or is it just video ?

one is video, other two are sound -left/right.

My dreambox was a bit fuzzy until i bought a decent quality scart cable. Got a shielded gold plated one for about ?5. Made a big difference!

You dont have component on your box, you have composite

Yellow=video
White and Red= sound

Scart is better than composite, component is better than scart.

Stick to scart in this case, check leads and av settings in box.

Sorry mate, got desc. wrong!
Using video/audio leads, some say it was better than scart.
Some cheaper scart leads have only bout 5-6 pins on their connections, but good quality one have full 20 pins out!
Dont know what diiference it would make but is something you could check out a little further!

i'm using cables that cost me about 30quid a piece, so they will be ok,

This is doing my NUT in , it works absolutley perfect and crystal clear on my other 6 year old plasma, yet on this brand new one it gives like a very slight out of focus picture, some things look ok, and some dont, most of the latter , i even double checked the box was ok by attaching it to the old plasma and its pefectly fine.
And i also plugged in my real virgin cable box (standard def) to check what kind of picture that gives and its a lot clearer than the dreambox, hmmmmm ????????? me not happy

How can this be and it works ok on the other telly ??
