DM500 [q] Dreamup bsod crashes windows

Hi, every time i try and flash an image onto my dreambox it crashes my computer about 5 minutes into the flash.
specs:
o/s: windows 7
driver: arkmicro USB to serial port driver (port 17)
dreamup: DreamUP_1_3_3_2.exe
device: dreambox 500c
image: dw2.1 (renamed dw.img)

Any ideas how i could fix this problem?
