    Freeview channels on DB post-N3

    Hey all,

This may be a stupid question, but what the hey...

Once N3 has had it's wicked way with our DBs, will the box still work for freeview channels? Or is N3 going to apply regardless?

Reason I ask is i'll be going back to my VM box downstairs (with the evil new smartcard), but have another cable socket upstairs... so rather than use the DB as a doorstop, I was hoping it could still at least be used as a freeview box.

i lost alot of channels yesterday(17th) on the sv4 only getting all the bbc channels plus itv1 ch4 and 5 i also thought once n3 gets me i would still get all the same channels that the freeview boxes give, i also have a sv3 box which is working ok so i was hoping it was just a hitch with the sv4 box ex cable wire connection

If your SV3 is working okay your SV4 needs to be rescanned or factory default then rescan. When N3 kicks in fully you will not receive any channels through your boxes. Although, if you plug the cable straight into your tv you will receive the analogue signal they are required to supply you with no matter what which will contain BBC1 & 2, ITV 1, Channel4 and a few others. All together about 11 to 16 channels.

Oh, also, 'Freeview' is a whole different kettle of fish. Thats Digital Terrestrial. Not cable.
