    dreambox 500 c

    just got a dreambox 500 c ,i had to flash it never done anything like this before ,any way i flashed it with dream up and an image i got from the guy i got it from ,when i hooked it up to the tv i only had 2 stations rte1 and setanta reland ,there is a huge list of all the other stations but i cant view any other than the 2 mentioned any body know ho to fix, iv a little toddler screaming at me for playhouse disney

      try reflashing with dk v1.1 image

                  Thanks. Excellent guide. Fell at the first hurdle though as I do although I have a null modem cable, my PC has no RS-232 port. I will have to brin my laptop home from work tomorrow.

                      Its very unusual for a pc not to have an rs232 port. Its not got a cover over it has it?

                          Really depends on the pc, but nowadays most new pc's dont have rs232, and having built several pc's over the years i have never added the rs232 port on any build i have done i used to bin it . Maybe i should have kept them and flogged on fleabay for a few pound..

                              Alot of new PC's are the popular SFF (Small Form Factor).
                              Very few of them have Serial or LPT ports as they take up alot of room compared to USB.

                                              When i download help guide above, it comes up with an error when trying to unzip is anyone else having this problem.

                                              On another note what is the best image for a 500 cable box.

                                              pli-iolite or the one mentioned int his post.
