Is this really the end of Dreamboxes when N3 hits? or will someone find another way (hack it), or is there an way around it just now?

I have DM500c Black version. Parents and bro in law has the white original one all on VM and we in Lanarkshire. I am dreading it I have a new TV coming in in the following two weeks. I don't want to lose all the Sky movies and sports and all the other channels.

There is a slim chance of cardsharing networks but for the time-being yes this is the end for cable.

someone will hack it one day but not at the start i have 4 dm500c through my house im switching to sat as we speak sat will still work so not so bad

How can u use sat on DM500c boxes. how much does a sat setup cost? Is there any subscribe needed? We had sky years ago before telewest just started.

you cant use sat on a dm500c thats why i have bought a dm500s they are the same price as a dm500c

sell your 500C now while there is still little market left, put more ?? on top and buy 500S. I have seen people flogging 500C on ebay for ?30 this week. Its better than in few weeks time when no one will buy it for a tenner

i wont be selling my dm500c as they will work again one day

Am going to hold on to mines too. Just pay the XL package for a few month then once they found a work around it DM500c comes out the cupboard.

to be brutally honest, it will stay in the cupboard for a few years, as dont expect a fix for N3 within weeks or months.

Freeview thru Dreambox?

Can you run the D600c off a standard arial? I know c means cable, so do i need a terrestrial tuner module to change it into a D600t? I can only seem to find these for the D7025 at the moment...

Don't want to splash the cash on a commerical freebox recording box when I got a couple of dream- & d-boxes lying around.

Yes u have to get a new module they just plug in and plug out. BUT some clones have a soldered tuner so check it out first. Ebay has tuners sometimes, just use the international search so u get the German/Italian sellers.
