DM500 DM500-c is blank

Hi Guys

Just received this eurovox ultra (dm500-c thingy). The problem I have is when I plug the box into the telly I get nothing as in blank screen. The best way to describe it is like you have turn the box off into standby mode. Now I've tried to flash it using dreamup and DW2.0 and it all goes through as far as I can tell. Then when I plug the box back in I just get the black screen again. Do you think the box is copput or is this just an image problem. maybe your scart connections gone tonto?
try rf out or components.

Hi sorry should of said I have tried this on two TV s with two different scarts. and even the phono leads.

Ok this is what I have done so far.....

I have checked the RF output and the scart lead but still nothing, I know the scart lead works as I have it hooked up to my Virgin Media box and its fine. I've even tried it with the phono (AV) leads that came with it but nothing changes. I have tried to connect it with the normal aerial but it is the same.

As I said before, is this just an image software problem, or do you think the whole box is no good? Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated because I don't know what else to do.

Also, when I first tried it, the box seemed to work with the remote and it went on standby with the remote or by the button on the front - now it will not go on standby. Not sure if that means anything but I thought I had better say just incase.

Please help before I drop kick it out of the window!

Why don't you try flashing it with the DK1 image from this site. Does the pc say the flash has been successful when you flash the image? You have got your cable lead plugged into the RF IN?

I have just tried the DK1 as you suggested but still no luck. It does say flash successful afterwards, and yes I have the cable in the RF in - I have an output on the box and an input on the tv.

When I do this is it ok to just flash it straight over the top or do I have to reset it and delete the old software - if you know what I mean.

Any further help would be appreciated.

Whenever I flash with dreamup I always do a flash erase so that it gets rid of everything on the dm500.

Update:

I have gone through everything again in the download procedure. Tried the DK1 as suggested with no joy. Then tried DW2.0, still no joy. I can't think of anything else to do, and has been searching in the forums and also through google for a couple of days and I am just getting more confused than anything. The only conclusion I can come to is that something is dead in the box meaning its not just to do with the image.

From what I have said, do any of you agree that there is something else wrong with it? I don't get any image at all, no menu, nothing - just black.

I have searched the other threads and similar ones I have come across have a black screen but most have said they can access some kind of menu or settings but I don't even have that.

If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Once you flash a new image onto your dm500 you need to than reboot it by disconnecting the power and reconnecting the power. If when you reconnect the power you don't get anything appearing on your tv screen than I would say there was something major wrong with your box.

hi, newbie on the prowl. Can't find access to the mysterious erase.img file. Downloaded new image and it's screwed everything up. Need help!
