    Bad Signal, or Something Else?

    Hoping someone can help.

I get choppy/blurred channels (not one decent channel) on my 500c box (old one with coax instead of f plug).

I have a splitter with 6.1db going to my modem and 6.5 to the dm.

My reading is usually around 96 snr (the other two readings are usually 40, 0 respectively)

After reading the forums I have tried:

f-plug to coax adapter (heard these can cause problems)
    f-plug to coax cable
    Using no splitter
Using dk 1.1 image and dw 2.1
    Using 3 differing cams
Using a booster from Maplins (20db)

Any ideas would be appreciated.. Cheers.

i get the same problem with different 500'c boxes and even with a dm800c
2 sources coming in to the house so the problem must be external.
this seem to just happen overnight.

Check your feed coming into your building, if all ok, then try some other images, not the ones you are currently using. Let your hair down and explore a bit.

I had problems with my signal strength some time ago and we eventually tracked it down to a split in the cable on the outside of the house. The problem was particularly bad when it was raining!

So is it my signal strength thats the problem?

I thought my readings were ok and maybe there is a problem with the box/tuner itself?

Last week my area went over to 3.7 and after a rescan my signal was down and had to increase booster to restore all channels. Wont be long now and we won't have to worry about signal strength...
