DM500 DreamUp errors DM500c

Not had a dreambox before so I have no experience at all.

I have read some tuts and took the plunge. Using dreamup with a null modem cable I followed the tut and connected everything when clicking FLASH, I wait a few seconds and then get the message " Upload packet failed to send"

followed by " doUpload failed"

then it shows, " Flash update finished. Result 1"

I have checked and rechecked the leads and followed the tut several times copying exactly what it says but keep getting these errors.

Any ideas what's wrong?

I used DreamUp v 1.1.0.0. Is this the latest version?

I found a different Tut and in it it said to untick the Use Network box. I done that and tried the flash again and it worked. It flashed but then when I connected it to the tv I had a screen flashing, stay on for about 5 seconds and off again for five seconds. It was doing it constantly. I could'nt even press any buttons on the remote and the power button on the front of the box refused to respond.

I have decided on flashing it again, using the DW 2.1 image. Is that the image of choice or is there a better image out there? The first one I tried was the latest DK one.

One more thing, do I still need to enter keys in anywhere or will this box autoupdate?
