No EMU?

right ive flashed my dreambox successfully (i think),but i only have a handfull of working channels.Im trying to get my channels back but dont know how.I also tried to restart EMU but in EMU manager it says "none"? i really dont know what i am doing.i have read plenty on here and have flashfxp but nothing seems to be working.guessing its because theres no EMU but how do i get one?please help im stuck with 5 channels

I was under the impression that flashfxp wasn't much good and that your best bet would be to flash the Dreambox using DreamUp software with a serial null modem cable. A decent serial null modem cable can be purchased from Maplins and instructions for using it with DreamUp can be found in Devilfish's Sticky.

I have flashed digitalkaos image with dreamup already and that worked fine so its not that that im struggling with.i have only a few channels that work.ive tried re scanning but although it comes up with channels, i havent got sky sports 1 to flick onto one i restart.im thinking im having problems because in EMU manager it tells me i have no EMU?

I'm not sure what image you are trying to use but if you install the DK1.1 image onto your Dreambox and then the "magic" files, the Evocamd emulator will be installed as well. You can download the image and "magic" files from here.

Once everything is installed, it is wise to go to s*y s*orts 1 and hold down the info button for 3 seconds , press ok to restart the cam, wait a few seconds and the channels should clear. The usual reason that they might not clear is that the keys have not been updated and this can be rectified by setting the Auto Update flag in the camd_cfg file as explained in here.

May all depend what area your in mate , some areas have gone Nag3 , Maybe thats the reason ?
the fact youv`e only got 5 channels makes me think this

Right,just done all that and i now have the Evocamd back.yay .all my channels are now there but locked.But when i try and find ss1 its not there how do i go about finding it?

I suggest that you make a "Bruteforce" scan for services rather than the scan listed just for your particular area. After that, you should go into TV mode, press OK and then the Red button for All Services. Hopefully, SS1 will appear in the alphabetical list.

Do you know if you are in one of the areas with Nagra 3 encryption? If you are, then you're doomed. If not, try another channel other than SS1 but not one of the FTA channels.

I believe that Lincoln is part of the "Nottingham" area for VM and as far as I know, it hasn't been converted to Nagra 3 yet. Therefore, you should still get the channels.

Go into the SetUp menu, select Service Searching and Automatic Transponder Scan. From the list of possibilities, select "CableUK Sym6887" which is near the end of the list. This is the "Bruteforce" scan for ex-NTL areas. See if this works for you.

done that and i have ss1 back.what do i do now to unlock the channels?

You need to make sure that the right keys are in. You can do this manually using the KeyMaster software but a much better way is to set the Auto Update flag in the camd_cfg file as explained here. Once you make the edit and re-boot the Dreambox, leave it on SS1 for a minute or two and see what happens.

autoupdate was already on.I checked the keys after id scanned and realised they hadnt gone on properly.Transfered the keys through flashfxp and I now have all my channels back!!! thank you.
