DM500 HELP.... My box won't work.....

Oh my god i don't know what's happened to my box it doesn't work any more..

the box is getting power the little green light is on ( a little feint maybe) but there is no picture or sound and the box will not respond to the remote control...

i tried to re-flash the box using dreamup, connected via com1 port but it stops when it says to switch the box on even though i do switch it on..

    someone help me please.....

sounds to me like you power pack could be on its last legs as they arent very powerful on the 500, has anyone near you got one you could use?

so you haven't actually flashed it?

the thing i did wrong when i tried to flash one was i was trying to use the wrong type of serial cable, maybe this is your problem too? you need a null modem cable by the way (but i dont know how you tell the difference between them! )

if the green LED lights up, its not the power supply.
if it were the power supply nothing would light up at all
Sounds like you are using the wrong cable, or your com port on PC is different to that in Dreamup software, try changing the com port to a different one
Also try a different version of Dream up .
And make sure your flashing the correct image for your box.

you can flash the box with crossover but you need the ip addy of the box and if the box isnt booting up properly its likely you wont make a connection.null moed cable is the way to go as it most likely to be needed again at some point
