Cable Splitter Help

Using a dreambox on a virgin line. I just switched from a 2-way splitter to a 4-way splitter (but i'm only using 3 outputs) and the picture seems to get more distorted now. I think the signal may have been decreased too.

Is there anything I can do to get the picture quality and signal back up?

using same set up m8, go to ebay type in dreambox look for booster yellowbrick

Why don't you just use the output from one box to drive the input to another then you wont need a splitter..........

Use the loop out on one of the receivers. This will allow you to use use twin splitter. But there maybe some probs with that;on a satellite receiver loop out the secondary receiver can only watch channels off the same band, polarity and transponder. Im not sure if this happens to cable receivers.
Your second option is to buy a yellowbrick booster as mentioned above and hope that does the trick.

Huh? Didn't quiet understand what you guys are saying. Basically from the feed, I have my virgin media box, broadband and dreambox connected. But the dreambox quality is pants.

When I go back to the 2 way splitter, with broadband and dreambox only, then the picture is much better.

Use the 2 way splitter from the main feed. Connect 1 output to the broadband modem. Connect the other to the dreambox input. Connect the loop through from the dreambox to the Vbox... Done.. I've tried and its fine..
Oh and the cable box does not have the transponder problem because there is no LNB involved. It's the LNB that can only tune one transponder at a time..

Cool. I will try this. What cable do I use to connect the dreambox to Vbox? Also where do I go then to watch the Vbox channels?

I just didn't want to unplug my Vbox incase they got suspicious or something. So will this method help in that regards?

vbox cable

use the same type of cable that comes into the house.. there's no problem in taking the cable off the vbox then linking in the dbox. should only take you a few minutes...... bin the vbox and get another dbox..

I dont think you get me. I was told that if I dont use my Vbox then virgin may get suspicious. So i'm trying to run my dreambox and vbox at the same time.

i.e. Can I do feed>dreambox>vbox?

And what type of cable between dreambox and vbox? The ouput on the dreambox is an aerial cable connection right? so do I need to plug that into the r cable input of the vbox? or into the aerial input slot?

Also is this possible? feed>vbox>dreambox?

The vbox has a screw in connector (f-type).. the dbox could have either tv or screw type.. just use the one that fits.. V won't know..

ok i'v plugged my vbox into the output of the dreambox, but it's not working. The screen is stuck on "your vbox will begin shortly". What is wrong?

Having 2 splitters in the loop reduces the signal a lot why dont you try a 1 in 3 out splitter instead and get one with a low db on it.

is using 3 putputs on a 4-way splitter, the same as using a 3-way splitter? or are you losing more signal?

So you are using a 1 in 4 out splitter and not two 1 in 2 outs? what is the db on the outputs

I got this one, but i'm only using 3 of it's outputs. On my broadband, dreambox and vbox.

It doesn't actually say what the db of the outputs is...
