you can try using smb shares.

    1) setup smb share on your mac:
MacDevCenter.com -- Inside Samba: Windows Sharing for the Mac

    2) create subfolder called "movie" in shared folder.

    3) setup the mount on dreambox (change /var/mnt/imac in pic to /var/mnt/hdd):
Mount a Mac OS X home directory on Dreambox

if all goes good dreambox will think it has a hdd and you can record using video controls.

    another option is streamclip:
Squared 5 - MPEG Streamclip video converter for Mac OS X

      Hi Sean.Robinson,

What version of OSX are you using?
If you are using Leopard there is now a built in feature for setting up a shared folder. (Very similar to a PC)

If you are using an older version of OSX you will need to use a program called "sharepoints".

I used this program. It worked a treat!
I made a folder on my Mac and called it Recordings. I then used shareppoints to make this folder "shared". I then made a folder inside this folder and called it "hdd".

I then followed the guide provided on this site for setting up the mount on the dreambox.

Once I had the shared folder the dreambox recognised it and I could then record to my Mac.

      Hope this helps!!

      Good Luck!
