DM500 Auto Standby?

I have installed the excellent DK2.1 on my DM500.
Is there an option for the box to go on auto standby like available on other images for the DB 7000 for example?
Or is there a plugin I could use?

You mean the v1.1 image?

There is a an option to set the sleeptimer in the shutdown menu.

I've never heard of an auto standby option but 7000 images are different to 500 images so it might not be available on the 500. For example, you can shutdown a 7000 but you can't on the 500, you can only reboot.

Yes my mistake, I meant v1.1!
I tend to shut down everything at the mains at night and when someone else turns everything back on the 500c stays on for hours, even if not utilised!

It wouldn't do it any harm to leave it on 24/7.

You would do it more harm turning it on and off all the time.

I was thinking more in terms of the environment with a TV, VCR, Home Theatre, 2 Dreamboxes and a Sky box left on standby all the time!

I've got a clever extension lead for all that stuff on mine. called a "one-click" i think. it's a normal 6 plug extension but when you turn off whatevers in the end socket then the power is pulled to everything else. its great for what your talking about.

also got one on the pc to turn off the monitor, printer, modem etc as well
