    DM500 faulty box,s from dvbseller.com

hi , just got a few box,s from above. one wont react to the remote and when i press power button on the box i get an orange light and no menu on screen. the other one when i put the scart in , the setup menu goes blck and white and looses connection with the tv tru the scart. the scart works fine on my own box. any ides guys.

    <--alliv added 42 Minutes and 38 Seconds later...-->

it gets worse, just on the blower to a m8 who also got a 500 from same place today. while flashing his one gives an error as follows ..error mem crc32 from box not equal to local crc32. whats that mean guys?

    Hi,

I had a friend who had a similar problem. It turned out to be the power supply unit being faulty (green light on unit kept flickering).

Eventually, dvbseller sent hime a new power supply unit.

    Hope this helps

I would contact the seller right away informing them of your situation. Any tampering that you do may void the warranty.

The remote one may be the ribbon cable that's loose inside the box, I've had that before. But you would need to remote the cover and risk tearing the hologram so ask the seller first.

Maybe a bit of thread but I am pressuming this is a DB 500c, I know mine is a few years old now but I only have a scart no RCA connectors? have these been added to later models?

No help at all but my current problem box came from DVB seller with a network card which does not work. More bother than it was worth to return it to China.

if you can still use dreamup backup a mates box and flash your box with the backup.

The power supplies that DVBSeller provide with the Dreambox 500 are utter rubbish.
Out of about 25 boxes bought off them among myself and my friends every one of them has had a blown power supply some after a few days ,some after a week.
                          Every supply has blown .
I've bought off other suppliers and never had a faulty psu ,most of them were 700 series units.
The ones on dvbseller are 803 series and are shite.
I reckon myself they are faulty batches sold cheaply.

when you mean power supply do you mean the plug? cos you can change the front part of the plug that goes into the adaptor if its not good.

I'm sure he's referring to the black power pack section.
