    DM500C (again)

    Just received a message reminding me I haven't posted in a few weeks so excuse me for going over old ground.
    I am back to my mate's DM 500 with a broken network port so only contactble via dreamup. I was using and old DW1.6 and entering keys manually but today it doesn't want to play.
    Thanks to Devilfish for previous suggestion where I backed up the image from my own working box (DK) and loaded to the duffer but it didn't have any keys again.
    I believe there is a working copy of DW2.1 floating around which will plug and play. I have downloaded a couple of images from various sources and am just eliminating them by the long road to see if I can find one which will work,
    Any suggestions welcome

      So you're backing up the image with dreamup then flashing it to the dodgy box with dreamup...yeah?

      When you flash it to the dodgy box, it will ask you if you want to flash erase after flash, yes or no? Choose NO. If you have selected YES to this question then it will have erased all the keys and roms during the flash process.

      See if it works then. Go to sky sports 1 then reboot the box using the 'reboot now' option in the shutdown menu.

          Devilfish you are a hero. I did what I have been doing all along with the exception of flash erase and it is working like a wee champion. Dodgy box no more.
