DM 800c V DM 600c

I have done a seach for both db 800 and dm 800 but come up with nothing. I was going to buy the dm 600c from satstore but then saw the dm 800 which seems to have HD anyone have any thoughts? I know there is very little HD content being broadcast at this time but your comments would be very helpfull.

i would go for the 800 m8, as no doubt there will be more HD content soon, then you'll be able o watch it when it does become available

Spent nearly all day yesterday looking at the pro's and con's of these two systems and have decided to go for the 800 not for the HD so much, what really swung it was the optical port for surround sound now all I got to do is order it and find a decent image for it.

There are loads of complaints of overheating on the dm800 and it freezes a lot. There's a 2nd stage bootloader out that cures this problem but it's by no means a perminant fix.

I would go with the 600 just for stability. And I thought all dreamboxes had an optical port, my 500 has one so I would expect all others to.

I was one of the first to get an 800c, never had trouble with freezing and heat

I've said it before but is the hack worth that much cash on a reciever,when it could all end tomorrow,if they wanted to?
Also worthy of comment are the current cc recievers capable of HD? which in theory will decide how much HD content will be broadcast.

yeh,, the v+ box is 3 tuner HDMI capable box.

What about the sammy 2110/2100 and the Pace models?plenty of these in service but are they HD capable.

If you have the money go for the 800 you can always change the tuner till a sat one lot more to get with it and anyway if the hack go's there is other ways im sure that you would be able to use your dreambox for cable

I was toying with the same choice a couple of weeks ago. I actually ended up going for a 7025!!! Now I've sorted my cam issues I love it. Twin tuners are so handy. What swung it for me was the lack of HD channels at the moment. I think it is going to be a few years before a decent amount come on stream.

Thats just blown my case for the 800 out the water I thought the bootloader was a perminant fix, read this in work today just got home and looked at the back of my 500. I allways wondered what that funny little black thing was sticking out the back pulled it out and stuck my optical cable in and there was sound, all around.
