ok lets get this understood if you connect a 500 c to your cable you wont get all the channels ,you will still have to do a few things to amke it didnt want you to think all you needed to do was buy one and connect mind there is 600c 7025 c new 800 as well so alot to choose from the 500 c will most certainley be a clone as they stopped making them but having said that i run a couple of them and never had a problem

Well, if there is a UK image already installed on it, it is set to go, all you would need to do is an automatic scan and thats it. If there isn't an UK image on it, you would need to install one before you get anything, the image you install is up to you. Check the download section on this forum for the 500C image. You will need a serial null modem rs232 cable to connect the box to your pc inorder to get the image installed. Using this box alongside with broadband wont affect anything.

Yes, it's only used for carrying the signal to the box, in the same way the signal is carried to your broadband modem. Since you are subscribed to broadband you have an active signal. Make sure you get a screw-on coax cable so it can be screwed onto the 500C tuner, and a 2 way coax splitter, if required that is.

No, you do not need this connected to the modem. You need this connected to your router but only if you wish to transfer files to it or from it. Other than that, all you need is your coax lead screwed on the back and thats it.
