DM600 Issues with Pli jade on 600pvr

    Hi all,

Having issues with Pli Jade on 600PVR.

    Symptoms are as follows:

    • Getting screen freezing now and then and also when access recorded files in file mode.

    • Seems very sluggish.

    • Decided to go back to Iolite image which seemed more stable, however using web interface is unstable, causes freezing and also VLC player not working (However, was working fine with Pli jade !!!)
    • My setup includes a WD 250GB 2.5" Hd

Any ideas anyone as can't seem to get a 'all rounder' image working ?

Also, can anyone please tell me the command line for telneting and flashing images (.img file) instead of using dreamup...Painfully slow....30-35 mins...

A number of people have found Jade to be sluggish. If you have a large number of day set for retrieving EPG seems to make it slow as well. Which cam are you using? I find Evocamd 2.14 seems to work best for me on cable.

        Hi,

Also, I've not set any swap file (Do I need too ?)

i was reading something on swap files earlier
donot do a swap file on your internal hdd

          quote from ihad:
No, it is not a good idea to put the swap file on hard drives, because the hard drive will never go to sleep, and if enigma try to acces it while it is in sleep mode, it can slow your box down and may also lock it up.

i think its mostly used with boxes with cf and usb

            flashing a dm600 by network+telnet

            in telnet:
            Code:
            mount /boot -o remount,rw
            rm /boot/*
            reboot
            1. You should now get a message saying that the Dreambox is rebooting.

            2. Wait a few seconds and then run Firefox/internet explorer

            3. On the screen that appears, choose the 'Upgrade firmware' button

            4. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, reboot the box
            boom!

              Many thanks,

Restoring worked fine and much quicker !!

The only thing I found strange was that after restoring and rebooting, the screen was black when selecting premium chanels like Sky sports.

Stopping and re-starting the evocamd (v2.14) did not make any difference, so I eventually uninstalled and re-installed the evocamd.

              All fine now.

              Many thanks.
