    Dolby Pro Login sound

got a Panasonic Dolby Pro Login TV with usual speaker set up

I have noticed I cant get Dolby sound out of the dreambox

is this due to limitation of the image or my set up.

    I am connected via SCART

It's true that you will need a digital optical cable to get any Dolby Digital surround sound. However, only BBC HD actually broadcasts in Dolby Digital, and the Dreambox 500 can't decode the HD picture. You can listen to the surround audio on this channel, but without the picture it only has a novelty value. You should still get better quality stereo audio via a digital optical cable though.

None of the channels broadcast in Dolby Pro Logic - it's an older matrixed sound system from the days of the laserdisc. All channels either broadcast in stereo or Dolby Digital. To decode DD you need to hook the Dreambox via a SPDIF (optical) cable to an AV receiver.
