    dm 500

    hi to all..i am trying to sort a m8s dream box after he lost channels.it is a dm500 running software ver v.2.1.i have scanned it and it is picking up all channels but only allowing fta to be viewed.i currently use starview boxes with no probs (glasgow area)and no if channels are"nt avaliable to switch on key emu( menu 1570) to view.is there the same option with the dm 500 or is he going to install new software.as it aint my box i dont want to mess about with it.how easy is it to flash the box is it similar idea as upgrading starview. thanks for any info..

      1.Press the yellow button.
      2.Press TuxBox Commander
      3.Press Ok on the ' var ' directory
      4.Press Ok on the ' keys ' directory
      5.Press 4 on the remote when you have
      highlighted ' keylist.txt '

      keys for your area (whatever area that is) should be there , exit and save, reboot dreambox,

          thanks for that m8.done as you said got into keys, they were different to whats on my starview, so changed them,but still no joy still only getting fta.it looks as if the channels are locked when you press info there is a box on left hand corner with multiple symbols one of which is a key it is light when on sports 1 etc but not on fta"s dont no if this is norm as i said new to this type of box.

              dm 500 sorted

              awrite guys..a wee update a"ve managed to get it sorted.what i done was.
              1.press blue button on remote.
              2.scroll down to user features press ok.
              3.takes you to advanced settings menus sroll down to reload channels press ok.
              box restarted and bingo channels back.hope this helps anyone with same problem.

                      so was my m8 he no longer has to watch council tv now ...but a big thanks to all the guys on this forum for some valuable info and guides...

                      remember if its man made its man F*$KABLE...

                          Council Tv ? Is that protected by nog 2.3 ? WTF is Council tv
