DM500 Pli-Jade Setup Password

Just flashed my 500C with the Pli-Jade image and all is well until I set the parental lock and somehow set the 'system setup lock' also but without entering a PIN. Now I can't get into the setup menu!!!!!!

I FTP'd to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/ and looked at the config file for the lines...

i:/elitedvb/pins/parentallock=00000xxx ;This is OK the HEX value is the pin I entered.

and

i:/elitedvb/pins/setuplock=ffffffff ;???? What do I do now!!!!!

Anyone any ideas how to reset the setup pin? I have tried editing this file but it is overwritten on re-start. I think it just displays the config - it's not actually 'THE' Config.

re-flashed the image and started again so panic over. If anyone does know how to hack the setup password though............

Pin reset

It doesn't work because enigma keeps its active settings in the memory. When u ftp in and change the config file then reboot it pulls the active settings from memory and overwrites your changes.

A workaround is to ftp in, make the changes then pull the plug, that way it isn't over written and will run off ur edited config file.

I had to do this myself, I also noticed that the hex value for the pin matched what i was entering but didn't work. In the end i turned the parental control off and the menu control off by changing the 1 to a 0 on those config lines. Then i just went back in and redid it all.

in my dm500, when i press setup it says to enter pin. but i dontknow the pin. how can i reset that pin.. please help

same problem as mine. the username and passwork does not work for me as well. cannot log into ftp ... the setting is keylock too. help~
