Lost then found too many channels. advice please?

Forgive me if this has been asked already, I just got home from work (Bristol) and I had no channels on my DM500 C.
I rescanned using Brute-force for UK.
Now I have full sky and everything else but have too many channels, I must have about 20 BBC1 and loads of other junk.
Advice please?
