    channel freezing

I have got a dreambox with the dk1.1 image on it recently. But I have realised that some channels keep freezing every now and then. The it says "this channel couldnt be decoded". I then change the channel, then change it back; and the picture reappears.

Some channels is worse than others. My daughter watches the disney channel, and it seems to happen really often on it.

    Any help would be appreciated?

What cam are you using? I find Evocamd 2.14 works best for me.

You could try a fresh installation if you dont mind losing your settings.

are you sure that would do anything?

What is the difference between evocamd 2.12 and 2.14?

starting a fresh would mean any problems there are with the software would go because all cams, keys and so on will be reinstalled

use the following tutorial by Devilfish

just download the dk1.1 image and flash it, following that install the files below

these must be ftp'd to the box

Too strong a signal will cause freezing etc, personally i'd try an attenuator.
Checkout the RED stickies massive amount of info and effort been put into them.

it used to freeze even before the signal booster, but that may of been due to low signal... .

I get about 94% SNR. So would that cause freezing?

I had the same symptoms, everyone is convinced pic issues are caused by weak signals. You can buy attenuators on ebay 3db and 6db.
They screw onto the cable feed.
As for re-flashing your wasting your time.

what does a attenuator do exactly?
