Recieving/Streaming digital streams

I am thinking of getting a 'dreambox' and wondered if it was possible to recieve internet streams like
VLC Plugin test page
(one of MY VLC streams)
or, for example,
BBC Media Player
(a bbc stream)
I have many other questions but I will harass the makers with them! - unless you're offering!

I don't think there's a feature to stream internet streams on the dreambox, although it sounds like a nice feature and I would have thought that someone would have made something like that before now so it may well exist.

Thaks for that Devilfish - I was told by a mate that dreambox could stream the tv and I just wondered if, being a Linux based system, it could attach to an http stream and then stream that...
I'll have to wait until greater minds than mine compile an os including something like VLC then life will become a bowl of...

You might be able to alter the streaming ip in the plugin cfg file to point to the stream. No idea if it will work though .

Thanks again! - I am just doing an investigation to see if I can justify buying s DBox so I have not got one yet but so far my interest is growing! - If you can run VLC on the dreambox then you have got all it takes to stream avi's etc.
one last question - is there a way of recieving flash flv's - I'm guessing yes and fingering my cheque book with anticipation!
