at the point you search and find your image on your pc ,then just before dreamup starts the flash it will ask you if you want to perform a flash erase before flashing .this will erase the previous flash if you say yes .
i love it when a dreambox comes together.

      Hi,
      Thanks for reply...
May be stupid question but why would you not want to perform flash erase when loading new image ????

Or when would you not perform a flash erase ?

      Thanks
      Taz

if your box has a base image (maybe the original dream multimedia image ) and you want to keep it ,then you would not flash erase ,also if your current image is working fine but you still would like to try to update to another image (but you want to keep the current image in case you dont like or have a problem with the new image )then you would not flash erase (keeping your image in case of the above ) and if you wanted to revert back to the previous image you would perform a flash erase .

depends on your box mate ,i have a dm500 and a dm7020 ,on the dm500 i can perform a flash erase if i wish but not on the dm7020 as this box just writes over the current image and replaces it with the new image.
