    the ultimate dreambox challenge

ok, i understand we can stream our boxes via the net if we want and can watch things from our pc on our boxes, but what i want to do is....

i watch footy matches that are not broadcasted on normal tv. i watch them using a program called sopcast via this website LiveFooty V 2.1-|Free Sport Stream|Live Footy|Live Football|Free|Premier League|Gratis|BundesLiga|LFP|EPL|CL|SPL|Seria A|Beijing Olympic 2008|Cricket

what i want to know is...can i redirect this stream to my box?

    ta,

The 500c is a service provider.
The sopcast is a service provider.
What use will it be pointing the sopcast service into the 500c service, none can store one another.
      Hope this helps!

so your wanting to watched tv streamed from the internet on your TV?

I'm sure that must be possible, you would just need your PC to re-encode the stream into something that your dreambox can understand (.TS file?). I'm sure VLC could do it if you knew how to set it up.

It's just the next step from playing films stored on your pc's hard drive (avi, mpg etc) over the network on the dreambox

kinda defeats the purpose right enough having to need pc... he is watching on pc anyway, and could easily just feed that to tv without needin loose bandwith and quality trying to then stream it to db.
the way the guy wants i isnt plausible on box with little memory like a dm500
          boom!

I've done it on a dbox2, stream sopcast and TVU player, not tried on 500c, on dbox2 you would use bookmark.

also found this plugin which works on the same principle, not yet played with it, just not had the time! think it will work after looking at the coding.
