    dm500c problems

Just received my DM500c from DVBmonkey. The IR sensor on the DM500c does not function correctly i have to place the remote directly in front of the box about 10cm for it to work also the power supply blown just after 1 hour of use.

I am using a universal power supply to get the DM500 running again but any ideas how to get the IR working.

If you bought a TV from comet and it didn't work properly, what would you do? Try and fix it yourself?

Why not contact dvbmonkey and get a replacement?

Most likely, the IR ribbon cable has come loose during transit. Remove the lid (being careful not to damage the hologram) and reseat the ribbon cable and try again. The fact that the psu has died means I'd be seeking a replacement.

psu is common, have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote - the weaker they are the closer you need to be

Try replacing the battery if that dont work then you got a fault so just tell Dvb Monkey and return it to them for a replacement just like Devilfish said and then wait for your replacement.

The remote has new batteries I dont want to send the DM500 back to Dvbmonkey as it took 2 weeks to arrive. I had a look inside the DM500 and the ribbon cable from the board to IR module is all seated. Maybe Dvbmonkey can send me a new IR module as it looks easy to replace.

            hi mate
u can check if the remote is sending signal by using your mobile phone.

switch your mobile phone as if you r making video.
when u press a key you should c the light flash in ur mobile screen.
