DM500 change 500c tuner, for a sat tuner

I have a 500c and I am wanting to change it to a sat box. Am I right in assuming if i get a sat tuner with 32 pins( same No pins as my cable tuner) I can just desolder cable tuner, solder sat tuner on and change image on box for a sat image. thanx in advance.

Probably cost you the same to buy a dm500 as it will to buy a sat tuner.

Not to mention the jtag which has to be done afterwards. You have to change the 500C boot file with the sat version, or your new tuner won't be identified.

You can get a tuner for around ?20-22 incl delivery, think i will just buy the new box, save hassle of the jtag. cheers for replies

hmmm. I thought about doing the same so ordered a DM500S tuner. Guess what..?
The 500C has 32 pins and the 500S has 30 pins so I'm stuck!
