Newbie, v+ box and standard box - Are we stuffed?

Hi there, i have both of these virgin boxes that have been modified but have unfortunately now lost the usual channels..

main question>.: is that it now? pay for precription only or do these dreamboxes work & are they easy enough to get hold of?
