faulty dreambox 500c

Hi guys despite numerous scans and images i can,t get any channels its like am scanning without the cable but i,ve also got a dreambox500t which i have no idea if any good i got it by mistake i was wondering is it possible to swap any bits around i noticed when scanning there are no numbers next to transponders

you got the cable.xml file in the var/etc folder?

Sorry mate after var where do i go then what folder plus the same image i,ve used on box upstairs works fine

no i hav,nt mate would that make the difference and where would i locate it is,nt it in the image file am using dw 1.6.2 i find this the most easiest to use without any problems

Yes mate downloaded cable xml file extracted and ftp via filezilla to var etc folder result after auto scan is 5 transponder found 48 tv services 6 radio 0 data 166 transponders with 117 services scanned mainly am getting bics channels with a blurry image any help thanks

if your getting a poor picture then you have got a signal problem you can but a cable booster from argos that will help you get a clear picture and to get more channels please read the stickeys you will need keys that would open all your programmes.

already have keys mate its irevelant the scan should pick up all channels avaible

Guys i noticed in menu tuner selection i get alt underneath it says inactive tuner and when going to emu selection mgcamd says not much but evocamd says inactive emus

i think you will have to install a new version of evocamd and try again

i,ve tried the 2.17 version still no luck am flashing again to see if the autoscan picks up any more channels

When you do a transponder scan on your dreambox, automatic or manual, a services file is automatically generated with the frequencies and services ids of all the channels found. If you have successfully done a services scan and found all the channels, there's no need to copy over additional services files.

What is missing if you get limited channels is it possible software issue or box issues faulty tuner or weak signal or revelant files missing
